Vanessa Henri & Linda Agaby are among the speakers of the Rocheston Reinvent Cybersecurity for Women Conference, which will be held on 25th – 27th September, 2020. The topic covered will be Artificial Intelligence, Trust and the Cybersecurity Industry: What’s Cooking?
Vanessa Henri
Vanessa, an information security legal expert, was part of the top 20 honorees in the IT World Canada’s 2020 Top Women in Cybersecurity Canada event, and is a Certified Data Protection Officer as well as a Lead Implementor for ISO 27701 (Privacy Information Management System).
Vanessa is a lawyer at Fasken, one of Canada’s largest law firm, where she specializes in emerging technologies, data governance and information security. She also sits on Fasken’s information security governance committee. Vanessa is the secretary of the board of director of OpenNorth, a non-for-profit organization specialized in data modelling in projects such as smart cities. Vanessa is a lecturer and member of the Board of Advisors at St-Thomas University, in Florida, as part of the LL.M. program in Cybersecurity Law and Policy,
Not only is she a published author, Vanessa has appeared as an expert in various media events. She is a sought-after public speaker and has participated in key industry conferences around the world, including in Silicon Valley, Tokyo, and Paris. She speaks English, French and in addition studies the Greek language.
Linda Agaby
Linda is a lawyer within the emerging technologies group at Fasken, with a focus on data protection, privacy and cybersecurity. She works with tech companies to draft privacy policies and agreements and ensures that their products and services comply with applicable data protection laws such as the GDPR. She also has experience with intellectual property law, having worked on issues concerning patents and trademarks.
She holds dual civil and common law degrees from McGill, and a Master of Laws with Distinction (LLM) in technology law from the University of Edinburgh. She has studied data protection law, cybersecurity and online media. She is also well-advised on privacy and cybersecurity issues in the Internet of Things, legal and technical solutions to reduce bias in algorithmic decision-making systems and regulating online media platforms.
